BlytheCon San Francisco RetroBubbleGum Etsy Blythe Doll Dresses Donation

I was so honored when I was asked to donate my #RetroBubbleGum dresses and business cards to BlytheCon San Francisco last month so I shipped over 3 dresses and 150 business cards!!  They already received them recently all and messaged me thanks and that they would post a picture too.

My Canon was not charged so the picture quality isn't the greatest but at least I had my iPod to capture all the #RetroBubbleGum goodies that were being donated.

Here are the 3 dresses that I donated on my Veronica but the doll is not included.  Aren't they so cute!!  If you think so too and would like one to purchase I do have an Etsy shop:  RetroBubbleGum Etsy

Well that's it for now.  I also have another post to do about my recent trip to the south with some of my darling Blythe dolls.  So much fun.  I also brought my adorable dachshund too.

Happy Leap Frog Year Day!

"I thought you were supposed to leap over me you silly little frog." Kiwi.

The frog is from one of the many thrift shops I have frequented. The shoes are official CWC Takara Step In Time set. Oh and the doll is a BL Kozy Kape from CWC Takara. BL means that the doll has boggled eyes face mold with a Licca body, I believe. I made the dress and it's one that I am keeping smile emoticon ‪#‎RetroBubbleGum‬ Hope you all have a wonderful day!

RetroBubbleGum Blythe Doll Handmade Affordable And Retro Stylish Clothing On Etsy Now

Since I started collecting Blythe I have been making things for my dolls and my friend's dolls too.  Knitting, crochet, sewing and even using a knitting loom also.  It has been for fun mostly and for giving my pieces as gifts.

I have sold some pieces and outfits too through the years but not on a regular basis.  Since my niece started collecting Blythe last year I started sewing a lot more for her dolls in my spare time and it was so much fun and relaxing too that I decided to start a part time Etsy shop called RetroBubbleGum

I learned how to sew thanks to my father who is a professional tailor that trained in Italy at his brother's clothing store and tailor shop.  I also took Home Ec in grade 8 and learned how to follow basic patterns to make a shirt, a mobile, a pillow and a tote bag.  Pretty good for only being 12!

Now I love to sew in miniature and do so with vintage inspired patterns, mostly Skipper, that will fit 11.5" Blythe dolls.  I learned how to do about 7 patterns really well so they are solid.  For my shop opening I have 3 styles and I work mostly with delicate cottons and vintage materials.

For more details please see the pictures below for the exact dresses up for sale at my RBG Etsy shop that are at fair prices with exact shipping.

If you like what you see then please feel free to hit my RetroBubbleGum shop!

Happy Valentine's Day From My Blythe Dolls Veronica & Rose Wearing RetroBubbleGum xo

Happy Valentine's day to all the kind and sweet people out there!  Above is a picture of my adorable Veronica who is a stock Lounging Lovely Takara Blythe doll wearing RetroBubbleGum and pre loved shoes.  The bear and doxy are by CWC Takara that came with my sleep set and the doggy was a gift from a friend!  I spiced up the picture thanks to that is mostly free!

Here is my sweet Rose in the same RetroBubbleGum dress and wearing stock cherry boots from the Takara knees and toes shoe set I purchased years ago for a mere $25 US but the boots alone are worth 4 or 5 times more?  I only liked that one set so that's all that I purchased.  I am not into the selling part of Blythe.  I usually buy and keep 95% of my collection.

So I will be starting an Etsy shop part time in about a month or so and I just designed some new business cards that I think are so adorable!  I ordered 500 on for only $9.99 CND and $7.99 cheapest shipping.  They were usually 50% more on the price but there is a sale on now.  Still beats that had only 100 cards for I believe $23 CND.  I have ordered postcards from Staples before and  you can go there in person for more assistance and you can pick up the cards quick without paying shipping.  I always buy from the best at the time so I might be back to Staples if they can offer me better next time.

Well that's it for now!  Going to do a bit of shopping this afternoon to make my husband the bestest Valentine's Day dinner ever!  All the best to the kind sweathearts out there! xo

Love, Anna

Happy Blythe Doll New Year!!

Happy New Year!!! May all your dreams come true and may this year be a really terrific year! Also, thanks so much to the generous Heather L for the darling champagne bottle and glass, among other great goodies, that I won from her via Pay It Forward group. Thanks also to the generous Jen F for the beautiful outfit my Mandy is wearing from the We Heart Dolls swap!

I used to spice up my picture. For the background I used a simple place mat from the dollar store. I also used power tack to stick the glass and champagne bottle

Sorry the pic is upside down?  I must have used my iPod the wrong way.  I tried to flip it around but there is no option that I could see for that?

Well that's it for now.  I hope all you sweet and kind dolly people will have a wonderful New Years and all the best in 2016!!

A Christmas Blythe Wish

My niece and her kindergarten class were assigned to do a report regarding what they wanted for Christmas and she wrote that she wished for a Blythe doll dress made by her zia!  That's me!!  I am so honored over such a sweet and touching request.  The kid could have asked for anything too!  It's nice to see that some of today's children value lovely handmade things over the trendy and plastic things.

I only just found out and since I made 8 dresses for her in less than a month my sister in law didn't want to bother me about it.  Well I was fortunate to find out and just look at the 2 lovely dresses I made from vintage skipper patters I got from the bay that are on Blythe411 Facebook Group that I created!

Doesn't my Maria Kenner Blythe doll from 1972 look so beautiful and lovely?!  I certainly think so!!  It's so retro, flower power and pretty!

I took my time with this because the elastic on the sleeves was something I had never done before but I figured it out.  Sometimes patterns are so vague but I was able to slow down and think about what I should do and voila it turned out so good!

This is my Aubrey a Prima Dolly Blythe Doll from CWC Takara or Hasbro.  I think it was before Hasbro took over but I am not 100% sure.  Anyways these are my first PJ's I have made a dolly and I think it turned out so cute.  I am still using the vintage rick rack I found at the thrift shop too!  I was so lucky to find it for a buck and so much of it also!

I can't wait to give them to her when she and her family visit me for Christmas!  I even got her and my other niece and nephew those Christmas Kinder eggs and limited edition Candy Cane Oreo's!

I wish all you kind people a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Holidays!  All the best to you and yours in 2016!!

This picture was taken way back in 2002, I believe!  I took it on my first Intel webcam that was attached to my PC and only cost me $50 CND plus tax.  The lighting was horrible and it was so washed out but I had fun and I love it!  That's what hobbies should be about.  God Bless!  Cheers!!
